Terms and conditions of EALTA membership

1. Individual membership is open to anyone who works in a member state of the European Union or the Council of Europe. Those not eligible for individual membership may become associate members.

Countries conferring eligibility are currently: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Macedonia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom (status 04-06-2007).

2. Individual and Associate members can attend EALTA conferences, including the Annual General Meeting, and have voting rights. Associate Members are not eligible as members of the Executive Committee.

3. Individual membership of EALTA is free, as is associate membership. Periodically, members may be asked to confirm that they wish to continue their membership. If applicable, they may also be asked to accept revised terms and conditions of membership. Failure to confirm continuation and acceptance of the terms and conditions may result in membership being terminated.

4. Members must not use the EALTA name, acronym or logo in such a way as to suggest that they represent or are speaking on behalf of the organisation without the express permission of an EALTA officer.

5. A member may leave the organisation at any time by writing to EALTA at the address given in the ‘Contacts’ page on the EALTA web site.

6. The EALTA Membership Committee reserves the right to refuse or terminate membership without giving reasons.

7. By becoming an individual or associate member of EALTA, a person consents for EALTA to hold personal details supplied to EALTA in the joining process. Consent is also given for EALTA to contact the member periodically with information. Subscription to the EALTA e-mail discussion list is optional. Data held about members will not be given by EALTA to any person or institution outside EALTA’s membership. Members’ names and contact details may be passed to other members and member organisations where this is in pursuit of the stated aims of EALTA.
